Sandy Pines is a 149 bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida and is nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson Sate Park which creates a rustic, roomy outdoor atmosphere. The Milieu Manager is responsible for supporting youth and guiding MHT staff in creating a positive and motivating treatment environment. This role will provide administrative oversight to MHT staff, ensuring written documentation is completed accurately and promptly. This includes teaching and role modeling skills, staff supervision, training, and serving as a role model for staff. The Milieu Manager must support the utilization of a trauma informed care approach in all aspects of their position as well as demonstrate their commitment to service excellence. The Milieu Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the milieu of their assigned unit(s) and for oversight of the Lead Mental Health Technicians and Mental Health Technicians on their assigned unit. They will also assist the Charge Nurse in organizing and monitoring all aspects of resident care. The Milieu Manager must embrace and support a culture of teamwork, support agency initiatives/changes to policies and processes, and promote a positive work environment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience working with children and adolescents (psychiatric residential environment preferred).
  • Master's Degree
  • CPR, HWC and Verbal De-escalation certification
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Essential Job Duties:

  • Consistently supports, trains others in, and models an approach of trauma informed care and service excellence in allfacetsof the position, which includes all interactions with staff, patients, and visitors,as well asthroughout all operations within the facility.
  • Provide one-to-one supervision to direct care staff to ensure professional growth and development. Provide direct care staff with support in identifying youth with the need for behavioral treatment plans.
  • Provide one-on-one and group coaching sessions for staff to improve their understanding of their roles and responsibilities, and problem-solve personnel concerns with the management team. Must be comfortable holding Lead and MHT staff accountable and providing redirection, guidance, and coaching when necessary. Documents supervision, records of conversation, coaching, and/or progressive disciplinary action as necessary and appropriate.
  • Assumes a leadership role during crisis interventions. Calmly and responsibly respond during crises and intervene to de-escalate using trained and approved methods and techniques of verbal and physical intervention to maintain safety in the environment. Ensures all restraints and seclusions are done appropriately according to training, policy, and FAC.
  • Write and deliver staff performance evaluations, including 30, 60, 90-day and annual evaluations, staff coaching, and disciplinary actions.
