Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Armed Zone Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, professional communication. This post requires an armed guard card or license. You will represent an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first, works together, and acts with integrity on every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Perform armed patrol functions on foot and/or in a vehicle, including regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas as assigned.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and request assistance from law enforcement and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Control access at designated posts by verifying identification, monitoring visitor entry, and/or screening for prohibited items in accordance with post orders and local regulations.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports, incident documentation, and shift logs, and communicate pertinent information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license as required by applicable laws.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Baton certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
