The Senior Power Platform, Power BI & Copilot Governance and Administration Lead oversees enterprise governance, environment strategy, administration, and support for Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, and Copilot.

This role ensures secure, scalable, and well-managed low-code and AI capabilities across the organization, enabling innovation while maintaining compliance, operational stability, and responsible use.

This position serves as a strategic leader and subject matter expert, partnering with IT, data teams, business stakeholders, and enterprise governance groups to define policies, manage capacity, support makers and developers, and guide long-term platform planning.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Governance & Strategy
*Define and maintain enterprise governance frameworks for Power Platform, Power BI, and Copilot, including environment strategies, data loss prevention policies, security guardrails, and identity and access models.
*Lead planning and decision making for platform roadmap, organizational adoption, licensing, capacity, and scaling needs.
*Develop governance processes aligned with organizational culture to safely enable maker innovation while ensuring technical and organizational compliance.
*Oversee the creation, deployment, and maintenance of the Center of Excellence toolkit and related monitoring and governance assets.

Administration & Operations
*Serve as senior administrator for Power Platform environments, Power BI tenant settings, Copilot Studio, and related Microsoft 365 services.
*Manage and monitor environments across development, test, and production tiers, capacity consumption, solution application lifecycle management processes, and access controls.
*Implement and maintain operational processes such as flow lifecycle management, solution classification, environment provisioning, and monitoring of platform health.
*Collaborate with IT security to enforce organizational security, compliance, and data governance controls across environments.

Support, Enablement & Community Leadership
*Provide expert-level support to makers, developers, and business teams, including escalation support for complex issues.
*Lead enablement activities including onboarding programs, training strategy, community guidance, and supporting champion networks.
*Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, fostering adoption and successful solution delivery across business groups.

Planning & Innovation
*Guide strategic integration of AI and Copilot capabilities into business workflows, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and governance.
*Evaluate new features, releases, and capabilities across Power Platform, Power BI, and Copilot; lead impact assessments and enterprise rollout plans.
*Support enterprise prioritization of enhancements, modernization efforts, and platform-wide improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical Expertise
*Minimum 5 years of experience administering and governing Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages) in a mid-to-large enterprise.
*Deep experience with governance frameworks including data loss prevention policies, environment provisioning, application lifecycle management practices, solution management, role-based access, and monitoring.
*Strong understanding of Power BI administration including tenant-level security, workspace governance, and Fabric administration roles.
*Experience with Copilot Studio administration, AI agent governance, and integration patterns.
*Familiarity with the Center of Excellence Starter Kit, deployment pipelines in Power Platform, and Microsoft governance best-practice models.
*Microsoft certifications in Power Platform, Fabric and Power BI, or Azure administration.
*Experience in data governance, enterprise architecture, or Microsoft 365 platform operations.

Leadership & Strategic Skills
*Demonstrated ability to develop governance strategies and drive organizational adoption.
*Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
*Ability to translate technical policies into frameworks and guidance easily understood by business users.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 5 years application management experience, including management of multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience in working with business users to establish priorities and manage expectations
  • Experience in application development and administration desired
  • Experience in web-based or portal development
  • Excellent client service, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and capable of performing tasks in a dynamic environment many times working under tight delivery schedules
  • Engineering and/or Construction background a plus
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
