Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, clear communication. You will document observations, assist with access control as needed, and collaborate with site contacts and local partners. This armed post requires an Armed Guard Card or License, and offers a team-focused role where Allied Universal values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with supervisors and/or public agencies as directed.
  • Control access by screening individuals and vehicles as required, verifying identification and authorizations, and directing traffic flow when assigned.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation such as incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity reports, and maintain accountability of assigned equipment and duty weapon in accordance with Allied Universal policy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge or an associates degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
