American Structurepoint, Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Manager to lead, develop, and continuously improve a comprehensive project controls program supporting our Alternative Delivery transportation projects. This role is central to how we plan, track, and deliver major DOT infrastructure projects, assisting our project managers in tracking project costs, establishing project-wide standards for cost, schedule, document control, and reporting. This role is primarily internally focused but certain activities will extend to clients including SharePoint Administration and document control.



Responsibilities

    Using the existing systems, establish and maintain costmanagement, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and change control.
  • Coordinate cost and schedule performance data with project managers and schedulers, including variance analysis, revenue, and profit.
  • Create standardized project controls processes, tools, and reporting dashboards (Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar) to improve transparency, accuracy, and consistency across all projects.
  • Develop and maintain project-wide project controls, procedures, templates, workflows, and compliance standards.
  • Train and mentor project managers and coordinators on project controls best practices.
  • SharePoint Administration including creation and management of sites, sharing settings, and groups. Perform routine audits to verify accurate group membership and permissions.
  • Develop and manage document control processes and procedures including naming conventions, metadata standards, routing workflows, and client-specific documentation requirements.
  • Work with Project Coordinator and Project Managers to oversee the preparation of invoices and supporting documents ensuring that invoices are compliant with client requirements and free from errors.
  • Support quality control efforts by implementing document and deliverable review workflows and ensuring compliance with internal QA/QC standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project controls for a professional services firm with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or senior role.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of cost control, document control, and quality control principles. Proficiency in cost management software. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret cost performance data, and utilize MS Excel for advanced evaluations.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced Excel (including data modeling and formulas), MS Word, and document control platforms (SharePoint) skills. Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools is a plus.
  • Document Control: Experience setting up and managing document control system including document storage, naming, and routing.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. Equivalent years of experience in project controls can be used in place of a degree.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical mindset, attention to detail, strong communication (written and verbal), leadership, and problem-solving skills and criticalthinking abilities, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
