Temporary Archaeological Field Technician Job Locations

Overview ABOUT THE POSITION VHB's growing Winooski, VT Environmental Services Group is actively seeking Archaeological Field Technicians to support upcoming Phase I archaeological field survey work for projects throughout Vermont and the New England region during the 2026 field season. Projects are expected to begin in March and last up to several weeks or more. Lodging accommodations, meals, and vehicle mileage will be reimbursed. Candidates will be responsible for transportation to survey areas with preference given to those candidates who currently reside in Vermont and neighboring states. Pay Range - $22/hr - $24/hr. However, the final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, and experience. Responsibilities
Conduct Phase I archaeological fieldwork, including pedestrian survey, shovel testing, and field data recording of soils, artifact finds, and site resources in accordance with the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation's 2017 Guidelines for Conducting Archaeology in Vermont
