• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years of prior experience.
• Ability to learn belt grinding techniques and follow instructions closely.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and measurement instruments.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
• Comfortable working around sparks, grinding dust, and noisy equipment (with PPE).

The Job in Action

• Assist with belt grinding machine setup, including changing belts, adjusting tracking, preparing fixtures, and supporting routine preventive maintenance.
• Load and unload raw materials, components, and finished parts throughout the grinding and finishing process.
• Perform grinding, deburring, smoothing, and surface preparation on metal and manufactured parts to meet production specifications.
• Monitor grinding operations to identify defects, overheating, or improper belt performance and support adjustments to pressure, angle, and feed rate.
• Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and rulers to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish quality.
• Complete quality inspections, production logs, and required documentation to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
• Sort, label, and package finished goods according to job specifications and customer requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment, following PPE requirements and equipment safety protocols.
