Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Manage environmental projects, prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, conduct environmental field work, site investigations, assessments and surveys related to environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Manage and participate in a variety of regulatory compliance projects regulated under the CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, CAA, and other environmental statutes. Participate in stormwater monitoring, field inspections, and special studies focused on water resources (water, wastewater, and stormwater quality), expertise in NPDES/TPDES programs. Conduct research and prepare applicable permit applications and technical documents including proposals, reports, SPCC plans, Industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s), Construction SWP3s, and Tier II reports. Assist with pollutant load calculations and basic statistical analysis of laboratory data, waste characterization and classification. Projects include participation in field work, development of reports and plans, coordination with senior management and clients, and managing multiple priorities. Some travel required.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Perform field work and prepare documentation based on results of site observations and assessments.
  • Responsible for interpreting applicability of environmental rules for SPCC plans, Tier II reporting, Form R TRI reporting, and hazardous waste management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Proficient scientific professional responsible for conducting site testing and making recommendations for systems design on smaller projects of minimal complexity.
  • May assist more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects.
  • Performs site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
  • Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by collecting samples, conduct testing, collect data and/or document site activities.
  • Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for approval by senior level professionals.
  • Evaluates moderately complex laboratory and field data and assembles written reports.
  • Serve as project team member and participate in meetings and communications with project team, senior management, and clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Civil Engineering or related field and a minimum of 8 years related experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • EIT Certification required and ability to obtain PE registration
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history
