Ruby on Rails Engineer (Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services)

Th Ruby on Rails Engineer (Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services) role will serve as the Engineer on a program that delivers a statewide, equitable paid family and medical leave benefit supporting workers, families, and employers while strengthening workforce stability and economic resilience. The role is for a Workstream pod lead and will support building the claim application form, a data integration between the Rails application and Salesforce, and additional functionality to support the full life cycle of the worker experience. As this is a greenfield application, this work will establish foundational patterns for form flows, data integration, dashboards, and more.

Your Responsibilities in This Role:

• Contribute to the full-stack development of accessible and maintainable features within the application.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product managers to refine requirements and deliver value for end-users.
• Contribute to code reviews and uphold code and maintainability standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree Required
• Significant fullstack Rails experience (5+ years experience with Ruby on Rails), really invested in good object-oriented programming, and ready for strong, thoughtful PR reviews.
• Significant experience building conventional, maintainable, well-tested, and extensible full-stack functionality in Ruby on Rails, in particular:
• Complex multi-page, multi-track form flows
• Data integrations
• User-friendly dashboards
• Data modeling and complex data validation

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.
• Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings.
• Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
• Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).

The salary range for this position is:

Minimum Salary: $91,554

Salary Midpoint: $119,020

Maximum Salary: $146,486

Hiring Range for Role: $91,554 - $142,000

*This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance criteria.
