Overview

As a Summer Intern in our Quality Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing web-based applications and contributing to various stages of the software development lifecycle. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, you will work on real-world projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and expand your skillset in a dynamic and innovative environment.



Responsibilities

    Frontend Development: Assist in implementing user interfaces using HTML, CSS, Typescript in Angular framework. Contribute to creating responsive and visually appealing web applications.
  • Backend Development: Support API backend development tasks using Microsoft technologies (C#, .NET). Collaborate with backend developers to integrate frontend components with backend services and databases.
  • Database Development: Write ANSI SQL database queries for relational databases (both SQL and Oracle)
  • Testing and Debugging: Write comprehensive unit tests, integration tests for both Angular and .NET. Troubleshooting issues to ensure the quality and reliability of web applications. Learn best practices for debugging and resolving software defects.
  • Version Control and Collaboration: Learn to use version control systems such as Git to manage code repositories and collaborate effectively with team members. Incorporate code review feedback effectively.
  • Documentation: Assist in documenting software design, implementation details, and technical specifications. Contribute to maintaining documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on best practices and web development trends.


Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of web development concepts and technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript).
  • Understanding of Single Page Applications.
  • Familiarity with at least one frontend framework (Angular preferred) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of API backend development (.NET preferred) is a plus.
  • Good understanding of SQL programming (Relational databases) is required.
  • Good understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are crucial for conveying complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders clearly and understandably through written reports, presentations, and verbal discussions.
  • Curiosity and Learning Agility: A strong desire to learn and explore new methodologies, techniques, and tools in the field of data analysis and insights generation is essential for staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Resilience: The ability to handle pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and overcome setbacks is important in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous analytical environment.
  • Ethical and Integrity: Upholding ethical standards and maintaining integrity in handling sensitive data and information is paramount for building trust and credibility in the insights provided

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Base compensation ranges from $20-25 per hour. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Nonexempt employees are eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a given week, or as otherwise required by applicable state law

This role is based remotely and all interviews will be conducted virtually.
