Maintenance Technician Lead

A Maintenance Technician Lead to oversee our maintenance team and ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of our facilities, equipment, and systems. The Maintenance Technician Lead is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, providing technical guidance to team members, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintenance standards.

Shift:



  • 3rd - Monday to Friday - 11:00PM to 7:30AM



Pay rate:



  • $35/hour
  • $3 shift differential



Responsibilities:



  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, facilities, and equipment to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment upgrades, to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments or external contractors to schedule maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Diagnose complex problems with equipment or systems and develop effective solutions to address issues efficiently.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to maintenance team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Monitor and control maintenance expenses within budgetary constraints, identifying cost-saving opportunities where possible.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices to improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Assist with performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and training programs for maintenance team members.
  • Assist with emergency response efforts and provide support during equipment breakdowns or facility-related emergencies.
  • Ensure shift reports are maintained and properly filled out.
  • Ensure that proper hand off between shifts is conducted daily/nightly.



Qualifications and Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members effectively.
  • Proficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
