Overview

The Classification Management Professional will be responsible for the systematic process of identifying, labeling, protecting, and managing information, in physical or digital form involved in incidents within EB, involving EB or any of our subcontractors.

This individual will work closely with investigators resolving AI, VORR, OPSEC and CSOC investigations. This individual will ensure policy was followed properly, the information involved is correctly marked, and if not, determine the proper marking and identify that to the investigator. Additionally, they will assist the investigators in ensuring information was properly accessed, transmitted, stored and appropriate protection measures were applied as required by law, regulation, policy and guidance.

The Classification Management Professional will also be responsible for ensuring Classified Information, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI), Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other designated information is identified in digital storage and classification labels are applied to files/folders, controlling access within and between networks, from its creation, through its use, storage, sharing, and eventual destruction, to ensure compliance and prevent unauthorized access or misuse.

It involves setting policies, defining roles, using specific tools, and applying markings, ensuring compliance and preventing unauthorized access or misuse.

Responsibilities:

    Protect defense-related information from unauthorized disclosure, involving specific markings and strict controls.
    • Interface with DCSA, SUPSHIP, NRRO, NR, and FBI.
    • Assist the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information Control Officer NNPICO as an NNPI Specialist in meetings and validation.
  • Ensure information is correctly marked and policy is followed for protecting information,
  • Assist EBIT and Cybersecurity in using tools to automatically apply classification labels to files, controlling access within networks.
  • Determine classification/designation levels based on defined criteria.

Responsibilities may include:

Training

  • Educate work force in application of visual or digital tags (headers, footers, portion marks) to indicate sensitivity.
  • Develop visually compelling and concise presentations tailored for high-level audiences.
  • Collect data and department responses for our self-inspection to submit to senior management and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
  • Conduct audit functions for NAVSEA08 /DCSA including gathering information and creating a RFI binder and Information Folder.
  • Responsible for ensuring workforce is aware of how to identify and protect information
    • Review/update all EBP-01024 security-related training and Security related training in all other departments to ensure it is up to date
    • Verify all EBP-01024 security related training is completed annually
    • Create/format Job Aids
    • Conduct hands-on training as requested
  • Approve and track Repository Custodians training and Classified Information System (CIS) User Classification training in Cornerstone.

Policy/Procedure

  • Responsible for implementation of Policies / Procedures regarding Security Requirements.
  • Continually assess existing security policies / procedures for process improvement initiatives.
  • Routinely uses the NISPOM, Electric Boat Security Manual, and other invoked guidance.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with all ISO groups as the Tech Cog to update, format, and maintain the Electric Boat Security Manual.
  • Represents the Industrial Security Office in the Engineering Security Management Team (ESMT) coordinating with other impactful departments, chartered to address protection of information, both classified and unclassified.

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills, writing/presentation skills, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • A flexible schedule and light travel may be required
  • Assist in company sponsored events as needed
  • Support for any Security related audits


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial environment with a working knowledge of the requirements of the Security Manual, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), OPNAV N9210.3, and other applicable guidance sources
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain Final DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Process Improvement Methodologies, Policy and Procedure Development
  • Experience administering security education and awareness training
  • Experience with Security Roles (Derivative Classifier/Security Representative/ISSO/Custodian/etc.)
  • Experience with Program Management
