Description

The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for applying
knowledge about curriculum requirements and educational activities to
coordinate the undergraduate medical education curriculum at the David Geffen
School of Medicine (DGSOM). In this role the Curriculum Specialist will be
responsible for coordinating, assessing, modifying, and maintaining course
operations to meet accreditation standards, guidelines put forth by the
Association of American Medical Colleges, and industry best practices. Specific
responsibilities include but are not limited to collaborating with faculty in
creating and maintaining learning activities for courses, cataloging program
curriculum, generating learner schedules and events through the learning
management system, maintaining database information, documenting learner
compliance, and ensuring program compliance.

Annual Salary Range: $70900.00 - 145200.00

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience curriculum management within health
    professions education
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant policies and accreditation
    requirements (LCME). Solid knowledge of DGSOM education program requirements.
    Knowledge of Learning Environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and
    systems. Thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications
    in a program.
  • Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral
    and written communications skills; includes succinct communication, active
    listening, and critical thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and
    supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone
    regardless of backgrounds. Empathetic and aware of impact on others. Strong
    problem-solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and
    demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established
    deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing
    deadlines
  • Knowledge of educational software and platforms.
    Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance the user
    experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes,
    guidelines, and/or systems to improve efficiency and procedure.
  • Synthesize information from a variety of sources for
    compiling and/or presenting information for learners.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory/practice

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related area and/or
    equivalent combination of education and experience.
