About This Role

We are seeking a Staff Data Scientist, Product Analytics to lead advanced analytics initiatives focused on camera hardware, firmware, and application performance. This role will own the development of centralized dashboards, standardized metrics, and end-to-end data pipelines that consolidate insights across all camera products. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, AI, and Operations teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and actionable at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and own product analytics frameworks and dashboards that provide a single source of truth for camera product performance, reliability, usage, and customer experience metrics.
  • Develop scalable data models and pipelines that unify telemetry, device logs, application events, and customer interaction data across all camera products.
  • Define and standardize core camera KPIs including adoption, engagement, reliability, latency, error rates, feature usage, and quality-of-service indicators.
  • Partner with product managers and engineering teams to translate business and technical questions into robust analytical solutions.
  • Build experimentation and measurement frameworks to evaluate new camera features, firmware updates, and AI-powered capabilities.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to identify performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and user experience gaps, and present actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Design self-service analytics tools and reporting systems that enable product teams to independently explore data and monitor performance.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, governance, instrumentation standards, and consistent metric definitions.
  • Establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms for critical camera product metrics to proactively detect regressions and anomalies.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and analysts while serving as a technical thought leader for product analytics best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Five or more years of experience in product analytics, data science, or applied analytics roles.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with experience building production-grade analytical workflows.
  • Experience designing and maintaining dashboards and reporting systems using modern visualization platforms. (Tableau, Mixpanel, etc)
  • Deep understanding of product analytics methodologies including funnel analysis, cohort analysis, experimentation, and KPI design.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product and engineering decisions through data-driven insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with IoT, smart home, or hardware-integrated software products.
  • Familiarity with camera telemetry, video analytics signals, or device performance metrics.
  • Experience with mobile app analytics platforms and instrumentation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of time-series data, event-driven architectures, and streaming analytics systems.
  • Experience with causal inference techniques such as A/B testing, difference-in-differences, or quasi-experimental methods.
  • Background supporting AI-driven products such as computer vision, machine learning models, or real-time inference systems.
  • Experience building analytics layers that support executive reporting and operational decision making.
