Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) is seeking a Response to Intervention Instructor (RTI) to join our growing team! Come make a difference in the life of a youth and love what you do!!

Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Residential Managers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (included, but are not limited to, the following)

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role focuses on designing and delivering targeted instruction for students requiring intervention services. Key responsibilities include leading educational case management, facilitating departmental collaboration, and maintaining rigorous documentation for assessments and IEP goals. The position ensures all weekly instructional objectives align with state standards and oversees comprehensive transition planning. Additionally, the candidate will maintain initiative-taking communication with stakeholders and provide classroom substitute coverage as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruction and Academic Support: Develop and deliver specialized intervention services and weekly goals aligned with state standards and IEP requirements. Implement lesson plans, provide one-on-one tutoring, manage, and assess progress in a residential setting.
  • Behavioral & Life Skills Training: Assist with managing behavioral plans, and support emotional, social, and physical growth.
  • Case Management: Oversee educational case management, assessment documentation, and transition planning for all assigned students. Maintain accurate, timely records including attendance, progress reports, behavioral logs, and health/safety reports.
  • Safety & Care: Ensure safety protocols and provide care for residents.
  • Collaboration: Actively participate in departmental meetings and maintain consistent communication with families, stakeholders, and external agencies.
  • Classroom Support: Monitor and report on student progress and serve as a substitute teacher for classroom coverage as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in a residential setting for youth;

OR

An Associate's Degree with 2 years of experience in a residential setting for youth;

OR

A Bachelor's Degree.
