We are seeking a dynamic and organized Estimating Project Lead to join our team in West Allis, WI. As an Estimating Project Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing project estimation, budgeting, and subcontracting for a wide variety of projects that include, but are not limited to renewable energy, wastewater treatment, food & beverage industrial process and utility projects. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and proactively expedite the estimating and subcontracting process will be crucial.

Job Duties:

  • Review design documents and understand scope of work to bid. This will occur with both Preliminary Design documents and Issued for Bid (~90% design) documents.
  • The many duties of this position require multitasking, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the capacity to communicate effectively with the M&H Design Team, M&H Construction Team and Subcontractors.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with subcontractors at each project location to enhance the likelihood of receiving proposals for their respective scopes of work.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with subcontractors by responding to and coordinating RFIs during the bidding process.
  • Track estimates / bids for status.
  • Assist in determining the cost impacts of project-specific requirements which could include but not be limited to prevailing wage, payment terms, disadvantage business requirements, ISN or AVETTA qualifications, etc.
  • Coordinate with other company departments and attend required meetings.
  • Analyze costs and margins for profitability.
  • Utilize Excel to compile all cost information for each project and present to the leadership team for approval.
  • Develop the estimate breakdown to be submitted to the client.
  • Participate in the culture of continuous improvement of the estimating and subcontracting procedures.
  • Flexibility to adjust priorities to fit the needs of the company.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree (or higher) in related field OR two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer skills, especially with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS Teams, MS Outlook, Bluebeam and Procore
  • The ability to work well individually and in groups
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively during both positive or negative situations
  • Presents complete and accurate estimates
  • Effectively edit work with proper spelling / grammar and can read / interpret written information
  • Use time efficiently and Complete tasks on time
  • Manages the demands of the work environment and adapts to changes / unforeseen circumstances, delays and / or events
  • Willingness and desire to provide our clients with a superior customer service experience
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality, with the ability to interact with people at all levels of experience
