Department Summary
UCLA Real Estate provides cost-effective professional real estate services for UCLA entities, which are continually improved in order to exceed the expectations of our customers and to fulfill our fiduciary responsibilities to the University. We assist campus users with off-campus leasing and real estate agreements, third party agreements for on-campus space and coordinate purchases and sales of real property. We also provide lease administration for our off-campus leases.

Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years Real Estate Experience (Required) Advanced knowledge and understanding of specific real estate assignments, such as proven ability and experience in conducting lease negotiations relating to financial and legal contractual terms, contract development, space planning, coordinating tenant improvement projects, finance and property management, and superior skills in lease negotiation and drafting of leases and legal documents. Advanced understanding of the legal terms and clauses of significant commercial real estate leases. (Required)Advanced knowledge of real estate principles and practices, methods, and procedures used in competitive real estate transactions, including value analysis and source selection techniques. Professional experience in commercial real estate practices and lease contract development. (Required)Advanced knowledge in leasing, acquisition, disposition, and occupancy transactions for various types of commercial real estate, including but not limited to, office, clinical, medical, lab, land, and multi-family. (Required)Advanced ability to negotiate favorable business terms and lease language of commercial leases (office, medical, retail, and/or industrial). Advanced organizational and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively resolve financial and contractual issues and disputes. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to accurately document and maintain lease files. (Required)Knowledge and understanding of sound business practices and procedures. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated advanced analytical and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and act effectively under time constraints. Demonstrated skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction. (Required)Demonstrated ability to effectively operate a personal computer with Windows operating system. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and other spreadsheet and word processing software. (Required)Demonstrated successful experience working in a corporate and/or commercial real estate environments. Demonstrated detailed knowledge and understanding of commercial real estate property management. (Required)Demonstrated and significant experience with significant real estate transactions involving the University and/or governmental entities. (Preferred)Strong understanding of risk management, seismic, fire and other life safety and ADA compliance issues. (Preferred)Demonstrated ability to conduct property inspections and analyze the results of such inspections. (Required)Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments, work independently and as a member of a team, as well as be responsive to supervision, exercise excellent business judgment, and find creative solutions to problems. (Required)Working knowledge of technical, building code, and engineering aspects of construction as used in tenant improvement projects and asset management. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of commercial construction, contracting and project management. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
Bachelor's Degree in related area and or equivalent combination of education and experience (Required) Master's Degree in Business (Preferred) California Real Estate or Broker's license preferred (Preferred)
