Primary Purpose of Position
The Accounting Technician is a member of the Belk College of Business Finance & Personnel Team. The purpose of this position is to monitor, report, and manage financial funding within the Belk College. In addition, this position provides support to the Assistant Dean of Finance and Personnel in the areas of special payments, eCommerce administration, and General and Trust Fund management.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Job Duties
The Accounting technician is part of the Belk College of Business Finance & Personnel Team and provides direct support to the Assistant Dean of Finance and Personnel. This position, along with the other team members, is responsible for processing all financial transactions originating in the Belk College of Business, an organization with six academic departments, the Center for Real Estate, and more than 150 permanent faculty and staff positions.

The Accounting Technician completes Payment Book Receipts, as needed, to ensure that the College is in compliance with the Daily Deposit Act (eCommerce). In addition, this position supports the Assistant Director in the management of the College's General and Trust funds.
Other Work Responsibilities
The Accounting Technician acts as a back-up approver for 49er Mart and ESDPR processing, p-card transactions, and Concur actions.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Prior experience working in higher education
  • Experience working with Banner Systems
  • Knowledge of UNC Charlotte policies and procedures related to financial systems, purchasing, and reporting
