What You'll Do
  • Assist the Sustaining Performance team with the creation, execution, and maintenance of performance tests for Prophet 21

  • Help collect, analyze, and report performance metrics to identify trends and potential regressions

  • Support automation of performance testing workflows and data collection where applicable

  • Collaborate with product developers and QA engineers to understand performance requirements and test scenarios

  • Document performance test results, test procedures, and metric definitions

  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of performance testing practices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Basic knowledge of one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar)

  • Foundational understanding of software development concepts, including data structures, APIs, and system interactions

  • Basic understanding of databases and data concepts (e.g., SQL, relational databases)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to reason about system behavior and performance

  • Ability to write, read, and maintain code and scripts with guidance

  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Interest in backend systems, performance, scalability, or reliability engineering

  • Exposure to performance or automated testing through coursework, projects, or internships

  • Experience analyzing metrics, logs, or test results to identify trends or issues

  • Familiarity with scripting or automation used to support development or testing workflows

  • Familiarity with agile or Scrum development practices

Education and Experience
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
    OR

  • Equivalent practical experience demonstrated through projects, internships, or prior work
