GENERAL SUMMARY: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) manages and directs the organization toward its primary objectives. The role establishes current and long-range objectives, plans and policies, subject to the approval by the Governing Body. The CEO dispenses advice, guidance, direction and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and Governing Body approval. This role oversees the adequacy and soundness of the organization's financial structure, reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results. The CEO represents the organization with major customers, shareholders, the financial community and the public. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. *Commits to the KRMC mission, vision, values and goals and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the hospital. 3. *Identifies, recruits, develops and retains top talent. 4. *Implements all policies established by the Governing Body; advises during the formation of such policies and reports on the implementation of such policies to the Governing Body. Includes policies for the protection of patients' health, safety and well-being. 5. Develops and submits to the Governing Body for approval a plan of organization for the conduct of the hospital and recommended changes when necessary. 6. Causes an annual budget to be prepared showing the expected revenue and expenditures as required by the Governing Body. 7. *Selects, employs, controls and discharges personnel and develops and maintains personnel policies and practices for the hospital. 8. *Ensures maintenance of physical properties in good and safe state of repair and operation. 9. Supervises the business affairs of the hospital to ensure that funds are collected and expended to the best possible advantage. 10. Presents to the Governing Body, and/or its committees, periodic reports reflecting the services and financial activities of the hospital and such special reports as may be required by the Governing Body. 11. *Ensures that the hospital maintains accreditation, licensing and quality patient care through the establishment of performance improvement monitoring programs and standards. 12. *Prepares a plan for the achievement of the hospital's specific objectives and mutually established goals and periodically reviews and evaluates such plan. Said plan shall at all times reflect the hospital's mission statement and be in accordance with the ethics and goals of the hospital. 13. *Acts as a liaison between the hospital and the medical staff and represents the hospital at external functions. 14. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 15. Attends meetings of the Governing Body and its committees. 16. Participates in and/or leads meetings, committees, strategic planning and lean projects as assigned. 17. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. Essential Job functions are marked with an asterisk "*". REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in healthcare administration or related field required. Recent experience as an Administrator of an acute hospital, multi-specialty physician organization or ambulatory surgery center is required. Financial expertise in healthcare fiscal management required. OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.) (DOT) Characterized as sedentary work requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects, including the human body.
