Summary

Instructional SystemsCo-op will work within theSoftwareEngineering teamsupporting the development ofInstructor Operator Station (IOS) Graphical UserInterface (GUI). Job duties includesoftware design,product code generation, testing, and integration with other trainingenvironment components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for code, test, and documentation of Instructor Support System software designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts andutilizationof basic technical writing skills.

• Assignments will be geared towards learning real-time programming techniques for flight simulation and graphical user interface (GUI) applications.

• Good interpersonal skills arerequiredin this position as interfacing with fellow group members and other engineering group members is essential to the learning process.

• The person in this position will be expected to report work status concisely and accurately to the Engineering Manager asrequested.

• Must be able to perform effectively as part of the project "team".

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accreditedBachelor'sdegree (or higher level) college/university program majoring inComputer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematicsand in your junior year or higher

• Must have a minimum GPA of3.0

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products

• Technical areas of expertise shouldinclude: current software development methodologies and tools (C, C++, C#, WPF, Angular, Java Script, HTML, CSS, REST API)

• Related skill areasinclude: technical writing and presentation.

• Ability towritereports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

• Must be willing to learn new procedures and applications

• Must have good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

• Must be detail-oriented

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact well with all levels of customer/team personnel

• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a militarysimulation and training environment

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

• Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to management and the customer at program/project reviews and meetings

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

• Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

• Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.

• Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required.

• The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• May berequiredto be in a sitting position for long lengths of time.

• Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator

• Must be able to support rack mounted equipment (Up to 7 feet off the group)

• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

• This joboperatesin a professional office environment.This role routinely usedstandardoffice equipmentsuchas computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
