The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Certified Medical Assistant performs routine clinical and clerical tasks under the direction of the program director and manager, physician or other health practitioner. Clinical duties may include taking and reporting vital signs, medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, processing prescription refills and assisting with minor procedures as directed by the physician or health practitioner. Clerical duties may include answering office phones, making patient appointments, reviewing charge orders in all hospital/physician financial systems.

Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant Certification, preferred
  • BLS certification approved by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

  • 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Days
  • Per Diem

Essential Functions:

  • Inputs data as needed or directed and accurately
  • Interacts with patients and handles patient inquiries in a professional manner. Responds to inquiry or passes to the appropriate staff member for follow-up
  • Prepares and maintains patient medical records in a neat and orderly manner according to department protocol
  • Takes the patient's vital signs and documents in patient record.
