POSITION SPECIFICS

The SCIS Department of the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA) invites applications for a clinical professor position in Supply Chain and Information Systems (SCIS) for a Fall 2026 start date. Salary is competitive. Onsite teaching is an essential function of the job.

Candidates must have a terminal degree (granted or near completion by the appointment/start date) in supply chain management, information systems, business analytics or related field. A strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate programs is required. Evidence of prior teaching experience is desirable.

The SCIS Department comprises a vibrant, research-active faculty with research and teaching interests that traverse the end-to-end supply chain and includes information systems, data analytics, business logistics, sourcing, and operations. The department offers degree programs in supply chain management, management information systems, and business analytics. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in supply chain management and/or business analytics that would complement the faculty with high-quality teaching in student-centered and collaborative learning environments. Candidates should be able to teach undergraduate and master level courses in supply chain management, business analytics, and information systems.

The Smeal College of Business offers a collegial working environment and excellent campus facilities. It has the Center for Supply Chain Research (www.smeal.psu.edu/cscr) which advances cutting-edge research and outreach in supply chain management. The SC&IS Department (www.smeal.psu.edu/scis) also has strong connections with the business community through various research centers that provide opportunities to interface with faculty across various disciplines within Smeal and across Penn State.
