The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Research Assistant will report to the Principal Investigator and Research Project Manager. The Research Assistant will assist in study coordination, regulatory activities of research protocols, recruitment, data entry, and maintenance of study files and databases in addition to performing clinical rating scales and also interfacing with patients, phone calls, clinical sample processing, and participating in weekly meetings.

Responsibilities



  • Screen applicants, ensuring they meet appropriate criteria, and making independent judgments as to the suitability of their participation.
  • Study subject scheduling, including planning and scheduling remote and in-person study visits; organizing of travel plans for participants; preparing for study procedures, and completing follow-ups and reminders.
  • Assist with study visits and post-visit follow-ups.
  • Conduct interviews with study participants and use study-specific assessments, review of medical history, cognitive and neuropsychological testing, and other questionnaires.
  • Accurately collect and enter data into databases.
  • Adherence to federal and institutional regulations and GCP guidelines.
  • Assist with other administrative and research activities as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance, programming, and management equipment used to collect data such as laptops, tablets, and devices distributed to participants for passive monitoring of movements and activities such as smartphones and smartwatches provided by the study.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus 1.5 years of related experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with clinical research.

Other Requirements



  • Demonstrated ability to interpret informed consent form documents.
  • This position involves significant patient interaction and collaboration with physicians. Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
  • Must be flexible, highly organized, and able to manage a complex study.
  • Ability to communicate, interpret, share and present information to management and research investigators and staff.
  • Computer proficiency.
