Base Compensation: $22/ hour
This position is eligible for an annual 10% bonus opportunity in addition to the base salary

This position supports Mesa's SDC business. Our Sterilization and Disinfection Control division manufactures and sells biological and chemical indicators that assess the effectiveness of sterilization and disinfection processes for pharmaceutical, healthcare, and dental industries.
Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician I performs routine laboratory support activities. This entry-level role is responsible for conducting basic sampling and analyses, preparing materials and equipment, and supporting day-to-day laboratory operations. The position follows established procedures to ensure accurate data collection, proper equipment handling, and compliance with laboratory standards and safety requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations & Sample Handling
Perform routine sampling and basic analytical testing of chemical inventories, control samples, and materials according to established procedures.
Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions following documented methods and instructions.
Assist with receiving, labeling, storing, and disposing of samples and chemicals in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
Equipment & Materials Support
Prepare, operate, and clean basic laboratory equipment under supervision.
Assist with routine equipment checks, calibration preparation, and basic maintenance activities.
Maintain adequate laboratory supplies and notify supervisor of inventory needs.
Data Recording & Documentation
Accurately record analytical results, observations, and test data in laboratory logs or electronic systems.
Maintain laboratory records, statistical data, and documentation in accordance with quality and recordkeeping requirements.
Follow established documentation and data integrity practices.
Safety & Compliance
Follow laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
Escalate issues, deviations, or equipment concerns to senior staff or supervisors as appropriate.
Learning & Development
Participate in on-the-job training to build laboratory skills and technical knowledge.
Develop familiarity with laboratory techniques, equipment, and quality standards.
Education & Experience
Knowledge & Skillsets Required
Basic understanding of laboratory procedures, sample handling, and safety practices.
Ability to follow written instructions, SOPs, and established protocols.
Attention to detail and ability to accurately record data.
Basic organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively under supervision as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new techniques and develop technical skills.
