Description

The Demand Management Analyst is responsible for delivering accurate, insight-driven demand plans and inventory strategies that support capital optimization, corporate strategy, and production/sales objectives. This role blends algorithmic planning with business acumen-leveraging statistical and forecasting models, scenario modeling, and cross-functional inputs-to drive service levels, profitability, and operational efficiency. The analyst acts as a key integrator across Sales, Marketing, Business Units, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, Finance, Operations, and Customer Service, aligning demand, supply, and revenue plans while enabling effective decision-making.

Responsibilities

Forecasting & Algorithmic Planning



  • Review and analyze demand forecasts from statistical methods (e.g., exponential smoothing, ARIMA, regression) and machine-learning-based forecasting algorithms.
  • Segment demand (e.g., ABC/XYZ, lifecycle stages) and apply fit-for-purpose algorithms to improve forecast accuracy and reduce bias.
  • Integrate external signals (market trends, seasonality, macro factors) with internal data (historical orders, bookings, backlog) to enhance plan fidelity.
  • Use configuration tables to plan and manage inventory levels to meet service-level targets while optimizing working capital.


Integrated Business Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to incorporate pipeline, and new product introductions (NPIs).
  • Align with Business Units on revenue targets, product strategies, and portfolio changes.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain, Quality, and Logistics to understand capacity, lead times, quality constraints, and distribution.
  • Work closely with Operations, and Sales to reconcile demand plans.


Customer Support



  • Coordinate and drive decisions on allocation and prioritization to protect critical customers, channels, and revenue.
  • External customer facing to support supply and operation discussions


Scenario Modeling & Decision Support



  • Run "what-if" analyses to evaluate demand/supply fluctuations, capacity changes, and risk scenarios (e.g., supplier disruptions, logistics constraints).
  • Quantify tradeoffs (revenue, margin, service levels, expedite costs) and recommend actions with clear assumptions and sensitivities.


Analytics, Insights & Continuous Improvement



  • Analyze demand, supply, and shipment trends to identify opportunities, risks, and root causes of variance.
  • Develop reports that communicate plan changes, accuracy metrics, bias, and performance.
  • Lead improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy, shorten planning cycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Math, Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience, or equivalent, in demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, or supply chain analytics.
  • Proficiency with Excel (advanced), ERP/APS planning tools (e.g., SAP APO/IBP, Oracle Demantra, Kinaxis), and data visualization (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Working knowledge of statistical forecasting and algorithmic planning.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into high-level analysis
  • Excellent communication skills and project management skills with demonstrated leadership ability to collaborate across functions and various levels of organization.
  • A tangible passion to take initiatives for winning, contributing and improving
  • Be able to exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience with Python/R and SQL for advanced analytics and model prototyping.
  • Certifications: ASCM CPIM/CSCP, IBF CPF/ACF, PMP or Six Sigma.
  • Industry experience in semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, industrial.
  • Exposure to S&OP/IBP processes and governance.
  • MBA


The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $114,400 - $220,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
