Summary The Foreman position works in conjunction with the Superintendent, other foreman and operations representatives on coastal/marine based construction projects. Provides direct supervision to craft employees to ensure safe and efficient completion of projects assigned, and serve as liaison between production and engineer staff. Directs the activities of craftspeople in regard to all types of marine construction work including, pile driving, deep foundations, wharfs, piers, bulkheads, bridges, floodwalls/floodgates, dredging, concrete, or other marine construction work on projects. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This role is performed primarily in the field and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, loud noise, and active construction or industrial environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, to grasp, grip, handle, or feel. The employee must be able to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hats, goggles, work boots, safety vests, life vests) as needed for various job sites.
