Summary

The Foreman position works in conjunction with the Superintendent, other foreman and operations representatives on coastal/marine based construction projects. Provides direct supervision to craft employees to ensure safe and efficient completion of projects assigned, and serve as liaison between production and engineer staff. Directs the activities of craftspeople in regard to all types of marine construction work including, pile driving, deep foundations, wharfs, piers, bulkheads, bridges, floodwalls/floodgates, dredging, concrete, or other marine construction work on projects. Travel and a reliable form of transportation required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Organizes the work force; assigns, oversees and follows up on performance of work
  • Provides leadership direction and motivation of employees
  • Assist the Superintendent and or the Project Manager as required
  • Establish quality control standards and supervise implementation
  • Keep accurate field notes and produce daily reports
  • Assist in the coordination and maintenance of equipment required for the project
  • Assist in coordinating, directing, and scheduling the work by subcontractors
  • Prepare and submit weekly payroll correctly cost coded
  • Work with Project staff to develop and maintain the Project Schedule.
  • Enforce all Federal, State, and Company safety rules
  • Assist in the development Work Element Plans, and JSA's
  • Conduct site safety and planning meetings and participate in Near Miss reporting
  • Develop/establish checklists for inspections, audits, emergency response, hurricane preparations, etc.


  • Ensures compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment
  • Additional duties may be assigned.


Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years construction industry experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Must have leadership skills including strong communication skills, excellent time management, organizational and delegation skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work plans, contract specifications, permit regulations, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratio, and proportions to practical situations.
  • OSHA and First Aid/CPR certifications required.
  • Valid picture identification required.
  • Valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or eligibility is a requirement for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS This role is performed primarily in the field and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, loud noise, and active construction or industrial environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, to grasp, grip, handle, or feel. The employee must be able to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hats, goggles, work boots, safety vests, life vests) as needed for various job sites.
