Overview

LMI is seeking a motivated Market Operations Intern to support the Market Operations & Delivery Excellence team in Tysons, VA. This individual will assist Market Leadership, Program Managers, and Business Development teams with a wide range of operational tasks, including data analysis, reporting, budget management, dashboard creation, documentation management, and meeting coordination. They will also help identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring processes, support the development of more efficient workflows, and leverage tools such as Excel, dashboards, AI tools, and other systems to improve data accuracy and operational efficiency.

This internship provides hands-on experience in business operations within a collaborative environment, offering the opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and gain valuable exposure to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

The Market Operations Intern will support the Market Operations & Delivery Excellence team by assisting Market leadership, Program Managers, and Business Development teams with operational analysis and coordination. Tasks will include:

    Supporting the Markets with reporting, data analysis, pipeline management, financial forecasts, dashboards, and metrics tracking.
  • Assisting in BD opportunity reviews, BD and B&P funds approvals, and workforce management.
  • Attending, supporting coordination, and tracking action items for program management reviews.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline and automate recurring operational processes, support the creation of efficient workflows, and leverage tools and templates to improve consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Ensuring opportunity pipeline quality.
  • Supporting the development of presentation materials and assist with coordination of team meetings.
  • Monitoring, triaging and responding to emails in shared Outlook inboxes.
  • Helping maintain a document repository and knowledge management process.
  • Developing effective communications and guidance for internal distribution.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current student enrolled at an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Business Administration/Analytics, Finance, Data Science, Psychology or related field and in good academic standing
  • Available to work 10-12 weeks beginning June 2026
  • Available to work onsite at LMI Tysons 1-2 days per week
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau, Power Automate)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and ability to communicate respectfully with senior-level leaders and stakeholders

Desired Qualifications:

  • Coursework or experience in computer science, information systems, data analytics, data science, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with coding or scripting (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA) and an interest in using technology to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.

Other Information

  • Interns will need to provide their own transportation to and from work and locate and arrange for their own housing.

  • All intern positions at LMI are paid positions.
