Nursing Department - Full-time Faculty (tenure- or clinical-track)

Job Summary
  • Full-time faculty position, tenure-track or clinical-track, teaching in clinical, laboratory, and/or didactic courses working with undergraduate students in a BSN nursing program. Courses are delivered predominately face-to-face. This position will include a primary teaching focus of medical/surgical nursing. A sub-specialty is preferred but not required. Faculty may also teach similar content in the Post-Bacc BSN program.

What you'll do
  • Teach in classroom and clinical settings, specifically medical/surgical nursing, and teaching clinical/lab in specialty or sub-specialty area.
  • Teach in the nursing skills and simulation labs.
  • Provide online teaching of skills and/or didactic content and clinical in the Post-Bacc BSN program as needed.
  • Evaluate students in classroom, clinical, and skills settings, including on performance exams.
  • General faculty responsibilities include involvement in the activities of the department and university (i.e., participation on teaching teams and committees).
  • Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline.

Experience:
  • A minimum of three years clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing is necessary; clinical experience in an additional nursing specialty is preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset.

Education:

A master's degree in nursing is required, doctoral degree or significant progress toward completion of a doctoral degree is preferred. A clinical focus with practice in medical/surgical nursing care settings is necessary. Current Minnesota RN licensure or eligibility required.

Compensation:

Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. Typical salary for Assistant Professor $55,599 - $70,043, Associate Professor $62,927 - $84,168, Full Professor $77,265 - $95,904 for 24 Load Credits a year.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The job requires extended periods of sitting and traversing the Bethel Campus on a regular basis. Must be able to carry suitcases and large recruiting displays across large parking lots and up and down flights of stairs.

Expected Hours of Work:

Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position.
