ED Admitting / Sub-Acute Admissions Specialist Responsibilities * Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements * Collect and update patient demographics and medical information to ensure accurate reimbursement * Register patients and update records using EPIC * Obtain bed authorizations and manage admissions * Handle claims, referrals, and authorization requests * Identify services requiring prior authorization * Verify insurance types (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal) and complete pre-registration * Collect co-pays and explain patient financial responsibility * Communicate with case managers, physician offices, and external healthcare facilities * Support multiple departments and remote locations as needed * Provide excellent customer service to patients and internal staff, both in person and over the phone Qualifications * Strong customer service skills * Proficiency with medical terminology * EPIC experience preferred * Bilingual Spanish a plus * 3+ years of healthcare experience in a hospital setting Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Pedro, CA.
