The Scripps Health Emergency Nursing Transition Program facilitates the transition of experienced RNs and New Grads with varied clinical backgrounds to an advanced beginner Emergency (ED/ER) Nurse. During the program, trainees are supported as they develop knowledge and skills to care for the challenging and varied population of patients that seek care in the Emergency Department setting. The classroom portion is system-wide. Positions and clinical training are site-based. The program utilizes four teaching modalities:
At the end of the program, trainees will transition to a full-time position on their unit. Additionally, trainees should expect to work the night shift on their unit after the completion of the program unless otherwise specified by the hiring leader.
