- Oversee the Company's trade compliance program, and maintain compliance with all applicable export and import laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), US Department of Energy (DOE), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), as well as other relevant laws and regulations
- Manage the Company's written import and export compliance policies and procedures, including timely updates and other internal controls, to ensure compliance with relevant import and export requirements. Research, interpret and provide guidance on trade regulations as required
- Administer compliance and restricted party screening
tools including the Global Trade System (GTS), Export on Demand Software, Dow Jones Sanctions and Ownership Screening, and AES Export Filing System, addressing screening processes and procedures for all regions. Support system upgrades for compliance tools, such as S4Hana, ensuring seamless integration into operational workflows - Provide compliance support for transactions, screenings,
classification and analysis, bringing specialized expertise and collaborating with members of the trade compliance network and business partners to achieve key objectives - Oversee the entire export/import training process for compliance
awareness, including updated content, plan rollout and follow up on results. Perform import/export compliance training to all relevant departments, business units, and other required personnel - Conduct International Trade Steering Committee calls, communicating with and about the
Linde global trade compliance network, available resources, key developments and best practices. Enhance communication across global compliance networks through the distribution of the trade compliance newsletter. Lead Hub calls with regional affiliates (e.g., South America, Canada, Asia) and others as identified to align trade compliance strategies and operational needs. Reinforce compliance priorities, with emphasis on the export process - Support the Linde AMT, Linde China, Linde Americas, Linde Gas & Equipment and Linde Electronics businesses, further strengthening Linde's global trade compliance efforts
- Manage import and export clearance, including, but not limited to, proper classification for items (i.e., Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, Commerce Control List (ECCN)).Manage licensing required to support the business and perform deemed export analysis and oversee technology control plans
- Maintain required import and export documents in accordance with applicable law and the company's record retention policy
- Perform periodic documentation checks and reviews, including review of entry documents for shipments processed by third parties, to ensure entries are correct. Support trade compliance audit requirements and spot reviews. Serve as a channel for resolution of compliance matters
- Provide advice on the impact of import/export regulations as well as determine required export control policies and procedures and implement necessary compliance improvement plans to ensure compliance with export regulations
- Be a key driver of excellence in trade compliance for the organization and perform continuous analysis and maintain knowledge of trade regulations to implement timely procedural changes to ensure business unit compliance with regulations
What makes you great
- Bachelor's
degree required (Advanced degree or certifications preferred) plus a minimum of 7+ years in trade compliance, with experience across import/export regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, OFAC), restricted party screening, and international trade systems (e.g., GTS, EOD, AES) - Experience in
working with a multinational organization in a cross-functional team environment a plus - Strong
analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve compliance gaps - Proficiency in relevant systems such as SAP,
Oracle, and screening tools is essential - Excellent
verbal and written communication skills suitable for training global teams and preparing professional reports/documents - Certifications
(Preferred): Customs Broker License, Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO), or similar trade compliance certifications. Passport for international travel required
