Security Administration Coordinator


Job Summary

The Security Administration Coordinator provides organizational and administrative support for information security operations, governance, and compliance activities. This role ensures consistent execution of documentation, reporting and coordination functions across areas such as control audits, security policy maintenance, training and deliverable management. The Security Administration Coordinator works closely with Governance Risk and Compliance, Security Operations Center and IT teams to track audit responses, manage corrective actions, and improve audit processes.


Essential Functions
(Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities)

  • Manages and oversees the coordination, prioritization, and quality assurance of audit deliverables, exercising judgment to ensure alignment with regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements.
  • Oversees security documentation and policy lifecycle management, serving as the primary administrator and subject-matter coordinator for audit evidence repositories, policy and procedure libraries, and compliance records; governing version control, publication, and change management to ensure materials are accurate, current, consistent, enforceable, and audit-defensible.
  • Oversees the security audit lifecycle, including designing and continuously improving audit processes, interpreting audit requests, determining and validating appropriate evidence, advising stakeholders on response strategy, directing audit response activities, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and sustained to completion.
  • Conducts System Impact Analyses (SIA) and security exception reviews, independently evaluating proposed changes, deviations, or exceptions to security requirements; assessing risk, control impact, and compliance implications; and developing formal analysis, documentation, and recommendations for leadership review and approval.
  • Analyzes and prepares executive-level reports, dashboards, and written summaries that communicate security, audit, and compliance posture, trends, and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Oversees the organization's security awareness and training program, including developing and maintaining training content, defining and governing onboarding and annual training processes, conducting training sessions, evaluating effectiveness, and implementing updates based on regulatory requirements, audit findings, and emerging security risks.
  • Reviews, advises on, and approves security-related contract languageensuring security clauses align with organizational standards.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and approves or escalates third-party Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) responses, exercising professional judgment to assess security risk, compliance alignment, and residual exposure; documents findings, recommends mitigation strategies, and coordinates escalation for unresolved or high-risk items.
  • Tracks and updates Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) records to support remediation and continuous monitoring.
  • Supports responses to requests for proposals, Technical Direction Letters (TDLs), Change Requests and other items as needed.
  • Change Requests(CRs), and Level Of Efforts. Coordinates the Records Retention process for the security department.
  • Facilitates communication between internal stakeholders, compliance teams, and external auditors.
  • Upholds principles of information protection, confidentiality, and compliance across all assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field OR equivalent work experience determined by Human Resources.
  • 4 years of experience in administrative coordination, compliance support, or IT governance.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with high attention to detail.
  • Understanding of information security governance concepts, audit cycles, and evidence management.
  • Strong, clear, and professional verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelors in Business
  • Certifications around Audit, CompTIA Security+, CAP, or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), System and Organization Controls 2, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Below is the salary range for potential new hires.

Salary Range: The pay range for this position is $21.91 - $36.04 per hour, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
