SUMMARY:
Assists Nurse Managers and Nursing Supervisors in the coordination and management of staffing and scheduling activities of Patient Care Services nursing staff including Per Diem personnel.
Provides a supportive role to the Department Directors, Clinical Nursing Managers and Clinical Nursing Supervisors in meeting the staffing needs of the Nursing Units.
Schedule Transportation staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurately prepares the daily and weekly staffing schedule. Maintains and updates staffing and scheduling lists.
Contacts and schedules Per Diem staff to fill unit-staffing needs.
Routes transfer requests and termination letters to the appropriate nursing manager.
Monitors fulfillment of Per Diem work commitments and sends letters outlining this commitment as necessary.
Develops and maintains processes and systems to streamline staffing office function.
Develops and maintains staffing schedule for transportation aides.
Develops and maintains census and staffing usage data and information.
Communicates all scheduling problems to the Nurse Manager/ Nursing Supervisor.
Advises appropriate Nursing management personnel of situations requiring follow-up

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two to five years' secretarial experience preferred.
Is cooperative in interactions, treating customers with courtesy, respect and compassion.
Is patient when responding to questions and answers questions appropriately.
Responds to requests in a timely manner.
Handles interruptions in a skillful way.
Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.
Strives to prevent/resolve customer concerns to the customer's satisfaction
Is responsible for ongoing development of his/her work skills through the use of available resources (i.e.: in services, formal educational programs, other work groups and on-the-job training).
Attends and participates in staff meetings and in services and/or reviews documentation as required.
Assists in the orientation of others and actively participates in mentoring.
Performs analytical and decision making functions with minimal supervision.
Recognizes and seeks assistance/consultation when appropriate.
Demonstrates an understanding of relative Hospital and all-departmental policies and procedures including safety issues.
Possesses awareness of programs/services provided by Hospital and where they are located.
EDUCATION:
High School or GED required

Pay Range:

$22.04-$36.37
