Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior-Level Systems Engineer with hands-on experience across the full Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) lifecycle to support enterprise-wide transformation initiatives across GEOINT mission systems. This role is ideal for a strategic, critical thinker who thrives at the intersection of architecture, engineering analysis, and cross-organizational integration.

The successful candidate will bring experience supporting complex government or IC environments and a strong understanding of enterprise architecture, systems integration, and technical planning. Familiarity with the GEOINT TCPED architecture is highly valued. You will play a key role in modernizing GEOINT mission capabilities and shaping future-state enterprise solutions.

What You'll Do

As part of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Division's Integration Team, you will collaborate with Expert-, Mid-, and Junior-level Engineers and Integrators to conduct high-impact analyses and drive informed investment and modernization decisions.

You will support integration activities across NGA Program Executive Offices (PEOs), ensuring alignment, synchronization, and documentation of the enterprise baseline-including architecture, requirements, and interfaces. Working within NGA's Digital Engineering Environment, you will help develop integrated project plans, target-state architectures, CONOPS, roadmaps, epics, and requirements.

You will also participate in cross-organizational Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) supporting modernization efforts across Analytics, Collection Management, Data Services, Foundation GEOINT, and IT, ensuring cohesive solutions and on-time capability delivery.

Key Responsibilities

In partnership with Systems Engineering, Integration, and Architecture teammates, you will:

Perform architecture gap analyses and develop future-state enterprise architectures

  • Conduct engineering analyses to inform GEOINT Mission and IT investment decisions aligned to the enterprise architecture baseline

  • Perform baseline analysis and drive requirements allocation, system architecture mapping, and end-to-end traceability

  • Capture and translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and solutions

  • Execute systems integration activities across organizations, leading and participating in IPTs

  • Develop project plans, architecture and engineering artifacts (e.g., CONOPS), schedules, roadmaps, and risk documentation

  • Lead and/or participate in Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (COAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments

  • Provide thought leadership, identifying opportunities to expand team scope and defining execution plans, deliverables, and timelines

  • Participate in NGA governance, configuration management, and risk management processes

  • Help define and advance modernized integration processes, promoting agile practices, digital engineering adoption, operational efficiencies, and cross-organizational collaboration

Location: This position is fully onsite with offices in Springfield or Chantilly, VA.
