POSITION SUMMARY

The Patient Safety & Regulatory Compliance Coordinator, RN supports the development, implementation, and sustainment of an organization-wide patient safety and regulatory compliance program. Reporting to the Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Regulatory Compliance, this role collaborates with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen the culture of safety, improve system reliability, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Coordinator supports a portfolio of quality and process improvement initiatives, including project scoping and design, process redesign, implementation testing, performance measurement, data analysis, and sustainment planning. The role requires strong clinical insight, project management skills, and expertise in patient safety science and process improvement methodologies.

Education / Certification

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in quality, patient safety, or performance improvement

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality and process improvement methodologies
  • Strong interviewing and facilitation skills with individuals and groups from diverse professional backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Skilled in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing patient safety event information into clear, concise narratives
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to build rapport, inspire trust, and serve as a collaborative resource across the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills, including delivering information to multidisciplinary teams and executive leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn new software systems, including safety event reporting platforms
