Posting Summary
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will join a multidisciplinary research team focused on cognitive aging and Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias ( ADRD). This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of neurodegeneration, cognition, and novel biomarkers for early detection of disease.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ongoing and developing ADRD studies of deeply phenotyped participants at high ADRD. Bloods are collected longitudinally and assessed for different types of omics. The postdoc will work closely with the PI and a team of neuropsychologists, neurologists and cognitive neuroscientists from the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Alzheimer's Research Center. This postdoctoral fellowship will be in close collaboration with Dr. Yasser Iturria-Medina's Neuroinformatics for Personalized Medicine lab in McGill University, Canada.
Applicants must have experience working with computational modeling and multi-omics analysis in neurodegeneration. Ideal candidates will have a background in the biomedical neurosciences such as biomedical engineering, data science, computational sciences, neurobiology, psychology, epidemiology, cognitive neuroscience, and an interest in studying the earliest stages of Alzheimer's disease.
The Postdoc will participate in lab meetings, research-in-progress seminars, and presentations at conferences. They will prepare manuscripts based on their research, aid in developing the PI's grant applications, and will be expected to apply for personal grant funding.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • PhD or MD in biomedical engineering, data science, computational sciences, neurobiology, psychology, epidemiology, cognitive neuroscience.


Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience working with aging populations.
  • Experience with computational modeling, and multi-omics molecular analysis in neurodegeneration. Strong background in bioinformatics and understanding of molecular biology.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate research findings to both academic and non-academic audiences.
  • Proficiency with standard office and data tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, reference managers, etc.).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Must have at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal.


Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or MD with experience in computational modeling of multi-omics.
