We are seeking highly cleared professionals who excel at the intersection of advanced communications infrastructure, distributed systems, and mission assurance-where reliability, security, and performance are paramount.

Specifically, we are looking for aTS/SCI cleared Technical Writer - Journeyman to support this mission at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

As a Technical Writer - Journeyman you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include:

    Use MBSE/SysML to trace controls & interfaces directly to ATO packages.
  • Implement automated workflows for compliance verification & reporting
  • Utilizes Digital Twin technology for real-time validation of compliance documentation
  • Synchronizes engineering workflows & documentation optimization
  • Provides assistance in development of Automap RMF controls & directives to interfaces
  • Supports enhanced reporting & compliance verification.
  • Assists in development tools and processes supporting Continuous compliance verification of multi-domain systems
  • Develop and maintain precise technical documentation for PRD-related C2ISR cybersecurity, infrastructure, and system authorization processes, including Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements, Platform Information Technology (PIT) Risk Approval (PRA), and cybersecurity compliance monitoring.
  • Drafts detailed recommendations with feasibility analysis and Supporting data
  • Develops standardized format to facilitate understanding and decision making.
  • Stores innovation materials and outcomes in a shared repository.
  • Provides supporting documentation (e.g., testing results, as-is comparisons) to enable informed decision making.
  • Prepare and update Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals, Training Manuals, and system procedure documents for AISR systems deployed in support of PRDs.
  • Ensure all technical documents are accurate, align with DoD cybersecurity directives and qualification standards, and facilitate comprehensive Information Assurance (IA) reporting for PRDs.
  • Plans, designs, and develops detailed technical and non-technical forms, documentation, and references for programs and processes with appreciable latitude.
  • Collaborates with technical staff and customer representatives to independently document complex specifications, design, features, and operation of technical processes and solutions.
  • Writes and edits comprehensive user manuals, help systems, and various other technical documents, often requiring originality in approach.
  • Designs and formats complex documents using advanced features of document-creation software, developing methodologies for presentation.
  • Develops the SEMP outlining the structure, responsibilities methods and procedures for systems engineering activities.
  • Ensures SEMP covers all lifecycle phases including concept, development, production and deployment.
  • Publishes project requirements and objectives in the SEMP.
  • Documents expert analysis and technical recommendations.
  • Collaboratively assesses the intended audience and strategically adjusts writing style and content.
  • Collaborates effectively with graphic designers to create sophisticated diagrams, dashboards, charts, or other visual aids.
  • Transforms complex information into highly understandable and engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Ensures and champions adherence to established style guides, quality standards, and regulatory requirements across multiple assignments.
  • Manages documentation throughout its lifecycle, including complex version control and archiving strategies.
  • Ensures and promotes consistency in messaging and terminology across multiple project deliverables and communications.
  • Utilize the following TO Management & Financial Tracking Tools: Task Order portal, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate), ServiceNow, SharePoint libraries, Confluence, lessons learned databases; Archer GRC, audit portals; Power BI, Tableau, predictive analytics dashboards; Teams, Azure AD role-based access.


Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Technical Writer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with a BS/BA or 3 years' experience with a MS/MA or 1 years' experience with a PhD. or 9 years' with a HS Diploma/equivalent or 7 years' with AS/AA degree
  • A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
  • US citizenship is required

Desired Qualifications:

  • DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.

Work Environment:

  • Location:Pope Army Airfield, NC
  • On-site expectations: Full-time on-site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking
  • Travel:May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
