Housing Choice Voucher Supervisor: The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) was established in 1974 to better respond to the County's need for affordable housing. HOC is authorized to acquire, own, lease, and operate housing; to provide for the construction or renovation of housing; obtain financial assistance from any public or private source to assist its housing activities; and arrange for social services, resident services, and daycare. Location of Job: Derwood, MD Job Description: This is a professional management position responsible for the supervision of professional staff, establishing and maintaining work standards, coordinating work function assignments and work plans. The position also requires the ability to plan and manage waitlist, intake and PBV leasing staff in a productive and efficient manner. Must be able to coordinate with other functions within the Housing Resources Division as well as other divisions and governmental departments. The Housing Choice Voucher Supervisor must have knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision, administration and management and knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and regulations to administer the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Will plan and coordinate the center with guidance from the Assistant Director of HCV. The Housing Choice Voucher Supervisor will also be responsible for improving the methods of providing services to clients, recommend changes, and implement guidelines and procedures to address changes in regulations, technology, and workforce. The work involves the management and direction of professional union employees in a wide range of processes and methods. The Housing Resources Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling, managing and addressing the needs of staff and clients at the Service Centers. The Housing Choice Voucher Supervisor also has a direct impact on the quality of the services provided to the clients, landlords, staff and community. Personal contacts include other HOC employees throughout the agency and outside agencies both governmental and private, for the purpose of negotiating, persuading or presenting issue to others.
