Business Analyst- Financial Planning & Analysis

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Business Analyst to join our team. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical solutions-leveraging data, coding, and analytical tools to translate business requirements into actionable insights and system enhancements. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with hands-on experience in SQL, data analysis, and an aptitude for working with modern business intelligence tools (Power BI preferred).

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with business units and technical teams to understand processes, data flows, and analytical needs.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and solution designs.
• Extract, transform, and analyze data from various systems using SQL and other programming tools.
• Collaborate with developers and data engineers to implement and test data pipelines, system enhancements, and integrations.
• Perform data validation, ensure accuracy, and troubleshoot discrepancies across source systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and automation.
• Document business processes, data definitions, and reporting standards.
• Support ad hoc analysis and insights to inform strategic and operational initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field; will consider commensurate experience in lieu of degree.
• 3-5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a related technical role.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying, joining, and aggregating data from relational databases.
• Strong understanding of data structures, data flows, and system integrations.
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, R, VBA, or C#) for data manipulation or automation.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear analytical and technical requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant US based experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Power BI or other BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) for data visualization, modeling, and dashboard development.
• Proficiency with Power Query, DAX, or ETL tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and relational database design.
• Experience working with financial, operational, or enterprise data.
• Exposure to agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
