Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work Hybrid with our client in Indianapolis, IN. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The Senior Control System Engineer is part of the Software Systems Capability function.
  • They will specify, design, and validate complex sub-systems, including high-level requirements for software and hardware system components.
  • This will include the creation of mathematical models and simulations of control and actuation systems.
  • They are responsible for the on-time delivery and quality of the control system work products associated with the validation, design, and verification of the system.
  • This shall be achieved through evaluation and modelling of requirements, design, and verification work products to ensure that the system implementation satisfies the validated requirements.
  • Evaluate and agree on control system requirements with stakeholders.
  • Capture evidence of requirement validation, use cases, design constraints, quality, safety, and security attributes, in models and work products.
  • Allocate control system requirements to test vehicles defined in the verification plan.
  • Analysis of control system functional behavior, including modelling and simulation, to demonstrate that the design meets validated requirements.
  • Develop and review control system tests that will provide evidence to demonstrate that the control system requirements have been satisfied.
  • Provides targeted testing of control system functionality to support problem investigation and problem closures, and customer issues.
  • Liaises with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective component design.
  • Develop the knowledge required to provide advice to project teams and be able to create, search, and reuse knowledge with some guidance from established practitioners.
  • Produce reports to document the work carried out.
  • Working with the guidance of Control System Specialists, the detailed specification, definition, and integration of the system is undertaken, ensuring that it will accommodate any identified hazards.
  • Dynamically respond to evolving objectives and emerging opportunities while working in coordination with a multidisciplinary, energetic team of engineers and scientists.

Pay: $78.09 / hr.

Hours: 40 hrs/Week.

Length: Contract (24 months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in control systems engineering, including design and validation.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of aircraft engine interfaces, component technology, and behavior during normal and abnormal operation, and software and hardware development process constraints.
  • A working appreciation of associated engineering disciplines.
  • Proficient in design and analysis tools.
  • Professional courage to highlight areas of concern and risk about the suitability of a product to meet its requirements in a safe and functionally appropriate way.
  • An ability to interpret test results and provide an informed opinion or conclusion as to the outcome of the analysis.
  • This includes an understanding of measurement uncertainty.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage tasks to completion, ensuring that the relevant areas of the business are appropriately informed.
  • An ability to identify and manage risk in collaboration with team members.
  • Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills and an ability to understand the level of analysis needed.
  • Good time management skills, able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, able to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Able to research application issues and products by being outward focused and able to seek solutions/information from outside of the immediate area, including suppliers, universities, customers, and related industries.
  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
