Position Summary

The Social Media Specialist plays a key role in shaping Busey's social media presence by creating, managing, and optimizing content across our digital platforms. This position supports the Marketing Director in the execution of marketing and social media strategies for First Busey Corporation and its subsidiaries. Further, it is the responsibility of this individual to effectively represent Busey while advancing our marketing efforts to maintain and improve our corporate reputation and brand while ensuring service excellence to our 4 Pillars. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in growing the company's social media and digital presence by developing engaging content, managing assigned social channels and tools, monitoring content performance and audience engagement and communicating - including outside normal operating hours - with online communities
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to drive traffic, grow audience and support business goals through strategic engagement
  • Research, design, and implement successful digital marketing communication timelines and plans on a variety of topics to support corporate, bank, wealth management, and subsidiary initiatives with a strong emphasis on social-first storytelling
  • Author/edit and maintain calendar and content of social media channel communications, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Tell compelling brand stories consistently and creatively across social and digital channels ensuring content aligns with Busey's voice and visual identity
  • Contribute to website, podcast, blog and other digital channel content as needed
  • Review and refine messaging to ensure clarity, accuracy and brand alignment across all social communications
  • Support audience and channel research to drive continual improvements in digital communications
  • Research and recommend best practices for tailoring messages and delivery channels based on targeted audience
  • Collect data on the performance of specific communications or campaigns, and provide timely, regular reporting/analysis of digital communication analytics.
  • Assist in the monitoring of online reputation management practices through daily monitoring and reports
  • Archive social and digital content in a timely and organized manner to support compliance and future reference
  • Other projects and initiatives as assigned
Education & Experience

Knowledge of:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while keeping projects on course
  • Beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
  • Communication disciplines such as public relations, advertising, marketing and graphic design
  • Microsoft Office

Ability to:

  • Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Take reasonable care in completion of work to prevent loss
  • Consistently manage marketing and related activities
  • Assist growth plans to support desired strategic objectives of the organization
  • Analyze and recommend marketing tactics

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience.

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $26.70 - $36.00/hour)
