This role requires a seasoned HCM techno-functional professional with deep functional knowledge and strong hands-on technical expertise. The Senior Analyst serves as a key advocate for Corporate Systems, supporting HCM platform modernization and leading automation initiatives. Acting as the primary functional and technical expert for the HR user community, the role translates complex business requirements into scalable, well-engineered, thoroughly tested, and production-ready solutions. The Senior Analyst mentors less-experienced staff while retaining direct ownership of solution design and delivery. The role proactively leverages emerging technologies, including AI, large language models (LLMs), agentic frameworks, automation, and cloud-based data platforms to deliver innovative, practical, and user-centric solutions. Success requires strong requirements elicitation, business process analysis, clear and empathetic communication, and a focus on driving measurable operational efficiency and value across HCM systems Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior advocate for Corporate HCM systems, leading automation initiatives and supporting platform modernization efforts.
- Act as the primary functional and technical subject matter expert for Core HCM modules, supporting the HR user community and advising stakeholders.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, well-designed, tested, and production-ready HCM solutions with strong focus on usability and data integrity.
- Proactively elicit and refine requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, business process analysis, and data analysis.
- Analyze and optimize HR business processes and data flows to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and system performance.
- Design, configure, develop, test, implement, and support HCM applications, analytics, reports, dashboards, and integrations, performing hands-on development as required.
- Apply functional, technical, and data expertise to deliver enhancements with minimal customization, leveraging delivered configuration, bolt-ons, and best practices.
- Develop and support HR analytics and reporting solutions that provide operational insights, compliance reporting, and decision support.
- Participate fully in the system development lifecycle (SDLC), owning analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
- Ensure all production migrations, enhancements, analytics deliverables, and defect fixes are fully tested, documented, business-approved, and compliant with change management standards.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, data teams, and cross-functional MCIT partners to estimate effort, define testing approaches, and meet timelines.
- Prioritize and resolve production incidents, service requests, data issues, and reporting defects in a timely and effective manner, including after-hours support as needed.
- Adhere to MCIT architectural, security, data governance, testing, coding, and change migration standards while mentoring junior team members through hands-on guidance.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities: Identify and quantify scope and impact of business changes on systems Solutions Designs - Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals/objectives Assists with Troubleshooting and debugging of applications: Clearly identify root causes of production level architecture/application issues and make practical suggestions with technical reasoning Responsible for Outage responses, escalations and root cause analysis Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience supporting and enhancing PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 with PeopleTools 8.60 or higher, in a senior techno-functional role. Strong experience in system analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support of HCM applications, including Core HR, Compensation, Talent Management/Development, and related modules. Deep understanding of PeopleSoft HCM data models, tables, and structures, with proven ability to analyze and manipulate data safely and effectively. Proficiency with PeopleSoft development and configuration tools, including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Security, PS Query, Integration Broker, and SQL, to build and support pages, reports, interfaces, and integrations. Experience supporting integrations between PeopleSoft HCM and internal or external systems using APIs, flat files, or middleware platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret business requirements, assess impacts, and design scalable, maintainable solutions. Experience producing high-quality functional and technical documentation, including business process flows, functional designs, technical specifications, test plans, and user-facing artifacts. Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies, change management, testing practices, and production migration processes in an enterprise IT environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to perform data analysis and present findings clearly. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business partners, and leadership. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting or participating in large-scale ERP implementations, upgrades, or enterprise transformation programs involving HCM and/or Financial systems. Experience with HCM cloud implementations (Workday or Oracle Cloud), including coexistence with or transition from PeopleSoft. Experience working in an Academic Medical Center or similarly complex, highly regulated enterprise environment. Experience with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Databricks) and analytics/reporting tools to support operational, compliance, and decision-support use cases. Familiarity with cloud technologies, integration platforms, APIs, and middleware supporting enterprise system integrations. Exposure to or hands-on experience leveraging AI technologies, large language models (LLMs), and workflow/agentic automation frameworks to enhance business processes, analytics, or user experiences.
