Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS CORPORATION is looking for a self-driven, intermediate level candidate with an active Secret clearance to join our AMERICAN SYSTEMS Ship Control systems team as an In-Service Enginnering Agent technician. Candidate will be supporting the United States Navy at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, WA.



Responsibilities

    Perform on-site support of submarine Ship Control Systems (SCS) and execute the duties of In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for Seawolf and Ohio Class submarines SCS.
  • Maintain knowledge and experience in overseeing the development, integration, test, evaluation and certification of existing and new submarine Fly by Wire (FBW) SCS designs, such as Columbia class.
  • Provide support to the tech assist teams in troubleshooting and repair of SCS, and maintain qualifications as Alteration Installation Teams (AIT) supporting SCS upgrades/alterations.
  • Coordinate with Shipbuilders, Lead Design Yards, and Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) engineers/technicians to support new construction, overhaul, maintenance, test and repair of submarine FBW SCS.
  • Maintain knowledge in hardware and software test and inspection methods and requirement verification, validation, and quality assurance methods.
  • Ensure fleet problem reports against SCS are acted upon and solutions proposed in a timely manner, and participate in FBW process development and execution.
  • Participate in modernization teams, as necessary, to coordinate and develop the appropriate system upgrades and ensure other interfacing systems maintain compliance with existing interface specification and coordinate proposed interface changes.


Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance and the to maintain Secret security clearance eligibility
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • High School diploma and specialized US Navy Ship Control Systems training
  • 10+ years of related US Navy submarines work, active duty experienceperiece preferred
  • Knowledge of Submarine Development and Construction
  • Knowledge of function operation of submarine Ship Control Systems and forward electronics
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of Test and Evaluation Program Management
  • Ability to monitor and coordinate work efforts of a large group of Navy and contractor engineers/technicians, develops project tasking and funding profiles, long term implementation plans and schedules
  • Ability to use complex interactive Computer Based systems
  • Ability to provide In-Service support of submarine Ship Control Systems
  • Knowledge of US Navy Logistical Support System
  • Knowledge in program management of complex software intensive systems involving contractor developed and government furnished software products
  • Ability to interact and communicate with Navy and Design Yard/Shipbuilder Technical and Program Management principals and provide in-depth assessment of the development of complex submarine control systems


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77,600.00/Yr. - USD $129,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
