Job Description

General Summary:

The Enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) Senior System Administrator at Vertex Pharmaceuticals is a critical role within DTE is a Business Enablement Technology (BET) role. This position is responsible for the technical administration, configuration, and support of the LMS platform, ensuring it meets the functional requirements of the Learning & Development (L&D) function and complies with GxP validation requirements. The role also involves enabling and supporting business-embedded stakeholders who perform administrative tasks within the LMS, ensuring seamless system functionality and user experience.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a technical administrator for the LMS platform, with a focus on system configuration, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Supports system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, including planning, testing, and deployment in collaboration with DTE and vendor technology teams.
  • Ensures that the LMS operates as a GxP-validated system, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting audits as needed.
  • Oversees system integrations with other enterprise platforms, such as HRIS and content management systems, ensuring data integrity and seamless workflows.
  • Explore and support AI-driven solutions to enhance the efficiency and reliability of these integrations.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation, including system configurations, validation protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Acts as a technical advisor to business-embedded LMS administrators, providing training, guidance, and support for their roles in managing learning assignments, reporting, and catalog updates.
  • Adheres to governance processes for stakeholder access, permissions, & responsibilities in the LMS.
  • Collaborates with L&D and other business units to understand their requirements and translates them into system solutions that enhance learning delivery and reporting capabilities.
  • Works with custom and automated learning reporting solutions to meet the needs of various stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
  • Monitors system analytics to identify trends, optimize performance, and recommend improvements to enhance user experience and learning outcomes.
  • Manages and resolves LMS-related support tickets, ensuring timely and effective solutions for technical issues.
  • Serves as a point of contact for LMS vendors, coordinating support and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Evaluates and recommends new LMS features, tools, and technologies to enhance system capabilities and align with organizational goals.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of LMS platforms, particularly Cornerstone OnDemand, including system configuration, reporting, and integration capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of GxP validation processes and regulatory compliance requirements in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in managing and optimizing data integrations with enterprise systems, including upstream platforms (e.g., HRIS, CMS) and downstream data platforms.
  • Experience with AI technologies and tools to improve system administration processes and enhance the performance of LMS and data integration workflows.
  • Proficiency in project management, business analysis, and technical problem-solving.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, and L&D, to deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical stakeholders in their LMS administrative roles.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques to generate actionable insights from LMS data.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or comp. experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in LMS administration, with a focus on technical configuration and system management.
  • Experience with GxP-validated systems and regulatory compliance in a corporate environment.
  • Relevant certifications in LMS administration or project management are preferred.

Pay Range:

$124,000 - $186,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
