Position Summary

Position Summary:

Operator B is responsible for supporting safe, compliant, and efficient cell operations through strict safety adherence, routine quality inspections, equipment setup/operation, schedule alignment, and accurate inventory/system transactions under guidance. This position follows the directions of the Value Stream Team Leader, and/or Operator A, assisting with work assignments and coordinating activities while learning and building proficiency across processes.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Prioritizes personal safety and the safety of the plant, including the use of personal protective equipment as required. Actively contributes to the reporting of safety observations, and fostering a culture of safety awareness, resulting in zero workplace accidents.
  • Review product and specifications to verify standards are met; secures assistance from supervisor to correct deficiencies to ensure all components and products meet quality requirements.
  • Works under direction of Production Supervisor, Team Leader and/or Operator (A) to meet production schedule requirements. Responsible to communicate any changes or revisions to the plan as they occur. Under the direction of Operator A works with appropriate part of drawings to fabricate scheduled parts for production.


  • Instruct and assist team members in product assembly; actively contribute to the cell/team to meet production requirements.
  • Set-up and efficiently operate equipment in designated cell areas. Satisfies all preventive maintenance requirements.


  • May perform assigned production processes as required, including spinning; applying adhesive and/or plastisol to products or components; cutting media, wrap, or other materials; complete spot welding, debossing, and seaming on filters or components; minor filter repair; and packing and inspecting finished products


  • Actively contribute to high-performance teams, foster a lean culture, and engage in activities to drive impactful change.


  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work overtime hours as required by business need.
  • Must work in a safe manner observing all company procedures regarding environmental, health, and safety.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred six months - one year's experience in Assembler role is necessary to develop skills and knowledge to perform proficiently.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Have the skill to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications and accurately use tape measures, gauges and other measuring devices used to ensure quality. Knowledge of basic math (perform arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals (add, subtract, multiply, divide)) to measure, record, and report production and quality data.

  • Must be able to read, understand and have knowledge of all cell procedures and meet requirements of these procedures relating to manufacturing of product in designated cell, and be a working member of the cell.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with team members to resolve issues, prioritize tasks, and work towards continuous production.
