Are you looking for a unique IT career where the mountains are your office? The Solitude Mountain Resort IT team is seeking an adventurous, technical problem-solver who wants to learn and support a modern infrastructure at a world-class destination nestled in the heart of Big Cottonwood Canyon.

We support a sprawling infrastructure including RFID guest entry gates, multiple Points-of-Sale (POS) software and hardware, end-user workstations, wired and wireless networks, digital signage, mobile devices, high-convergence virtualization and much more. This position serves all aspects of the resort's technical needs. While your primary focus will be supporting co-workers, hardware, resolving issues that may impact guest experience, and operational excellence, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that will shape the future of the resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Technical Support: Triage Helpdesk tickets efficiently and accurately while maintaining detailed documentation. Support, repair, configure, and upgrade Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and Linux devices.
  • Infrastructure Management: Move, install, and re-configure hardware including workstations, printers, and network switches with a focus on organized cable management.
  • On-Mountain Operations: Perform on-mountain repairs and hardware installation in varying weather conditions including but not limited to RFID guest entry gates which include network, hardware, and software configuration.
  • User Management: Efficient onboarding and offboarding of the many systems we support, manage device and application deployment, and support continued education of end-users.
  • Network Support: Perform low voltage wiring, testing and repair, including network cable termination, POTS management, and occasional fiber splicing.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot root cause(s) of hardware and software failures to prevent recurrence.
  • Communication: Collaborate with IT staff at other Alterra resorts and communicate technical information effectively to non-technical departments via phone, Teams, and email. Develop documentation that will contribute to the future success of Solitude and Alterra as a whole.
  • Availability: Must participate in on-call rotation, work weekends and holidays.


COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
  • Enterprise Computing: Demonstrated knowledge of managing Windows PC in an Active Directory domain environment, including system deployment/imaging.
  • Mobile Device Management: Support device Apple and Android device enrollment and application management via Intune, Apple Business Manager and JAMF.
  • Network Fundamentals: Knowledge of infrastructure concepts including enterprise Wi-Fi, Point-To-Point, Cisco switching and routing, fiber optics, and ethernet cabling.
  • Microsoft Stack: Understanding of Microsoft 365 Suite including but not limited to Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, Outlook, Groups.
  • Server/Data Center: Experience supporting datacenter hardware including racking, cabling, distribution frames and power.
  • Customer Service: Exemplary service skills with a demonstration of compassion and patience for end-users.
  • Guest Facing: Interact positively with guests, while in uniform/dress code and wearing a name tag, who are requesting information about the resort.
  • Self-Management: Ability to work solo, self-prioritize, self-start projects, know when to ask for help, and can work positively in a team setting.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 2-year degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certification.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Ski/Snowboard Ability: Required. Must be able to ski/snowboard intermediate runs in varying conditions while carrying a backpack weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Environment: Exposure harsh winter weather, snow, and direct sunlight, as well as confined spaces such as network closets and heights while climbing roofs or working on a ladder.
  • Travel: Must understand the logistics of traveling in Big Cottonwood Canyon, including UDOT traction laws and potential road closures/delays.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs including but not limited to servers, UPS units, cabling spools, RFID Gates.
