What You'll Do

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Procurement and Subcontracts, you will support the procurement of third party goods and services used in the delivery of global research projects; prepare and administer subcontracts, consulting and site agreements and manage purchase orders and related documents; coordinate with operations and research staff to monitor the use of third party suppliers; other duties in support of the RTI Health Solutions Procurement Department as needed.

Essential Duties

  • Support procurement processes, including vendor record management, purchase authorizations, negotiation and administration of third-party contracts; including CDAs
  • Review vendor proposals to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review prime agreements to identify client obligations and evaluate downstream impacts on third-party vendors, sites, and subcontractors
  • Assist RTI Health Solutions project staff with understanding the third party contractual and business obligations with respect to RTI Health Solutions' projects
  • Apply sound judgement to balance speed, risk, and quality; escalate urgent or high-risk issues promptly with clear recommendations.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate communication, alignment, and issue resolution across projects.
  • Assist with maintaining standard third-party contract templates.
  • Data entry and record maintenance in enterprise-wide client management and accounting system
  • Extract, prepare and distribute monthly reporting, including Client HCP/HCO, contract renewal status; and purchase order spend.
  • Support client and vendor requests for information or documents.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Ability to accurately perform duties that require close attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate standard terms and conditions for effective contracts with vendors and subcontractors with minimal support and guidance from their senior peers or Manager.
  • Ability to conduct due diligence as required by client specifications and company policies
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, well-developed critical thinking, risk analysis, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload and follow tasks through to timely completion
  • Ability to work independently and be accountable for work product and results
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to quickly learn enterprise client management and accounting system (Deltek Vision)

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's level degree
  • 3 years' of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience(Note: a Bachelor's level degree is equivalent to 6 years of directly related experience).
  • Demonstrated understanding of third-party contract principles and commercial business practices.

Preferred:

  • Experience with contract administration; project finance or accounting
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a CRO
