Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for an Inventory Specialist position in Burns Harbor, IN. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting the Customer Service and Account Sales groups by managing the forecasting, and placement of orders within capacity constraints to support inventory targets and on time delivery goals. Summary of Responsibilities:
- Determine best methods to generate automotive and managed end user forecasts to support replenishment, monthly and yearly automotive shipment projections.
- Compare customer part forecasts to shipping history.
- Identify relationship between individual parts and the vehicle production outlook.
- Maintain IBP forecasts with current account sales and customer service updates and information.
- Ensure an appropriate level of order replenishment bookings support in delivery and manage order entry minimizing booking shortages and surplus to part positions.
- Ensure part setup completion within the SAP material flow to support MRP function.
- Maintain internal customer relationships cross departmentally and represent the team on more complex cross functional project teams.
- Work with Customer Service and Manufacturing Planning to comply with capacity constraints to ensure automotive bookings meet the plan for all accounts.
- Provide a recommended demand forecast based on statistical analysis.
- Measure and report forecast accuracy.
- Enlist Account Sales and Customer Service support to engage with customers to validate future forecasts and/or prior forecast accuracy performance.
- Maintain commercial data integrity by investigating, evaluating, testing, and proposing improvements to systems.
- Initiating & Problem Solving
- Recognize and address advanced order replenishment system issues with the appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate breakpoint management for part transfers and spot buys and coordinate and lead work with IT on the elimination of system barriers for order entry.
- Assist Manager in responding to identified team issues, including systems and reports.
- Team Support
- Support the department as needed on complex cross-functional project teams and provide back-up support to the Manager which may include attending meetings, presenting information across departmental levels, and performing daily management activities. Participate in and facilitate meetings as needed.
- Accurate and timely support booking needs for any team/part/product.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and relevant work experience.
- 2 years of commercial experience
- Experienced in data analysis and reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with data manipulation
- Ability to manipulate and interpret data using different interfaces in order to make informed decisions.
- Skilled in both written and oral communication.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment across multiple functions and all levels of management.
- Accepts and adapts to changing expectations, priorities, tools, and processes.
- Demonstrates ability to identify opportunities and/or problems, perform fact-based analysis, resolution and decision making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or Business.
