Description Acara Solutions has been providing advanced manufacturing firms, aerospace, and defense organizations with our staffing services nationally since the 1950's. Our defense client in Arlington, TX has a 6+ month contract opening for a Human Factors Engineer. This is an onsite position. 9/80 schedule.
We are looking for a human systems professional to join our team as a Human Factors Engineer (HFE), where you will leverage your knowledge of human systems, human factors military standards, Human Systems Integration (HSI) processes, and Learning Engineering (LE) principles to support human-centered training systems development. You will lead the planning, analyses, reporting, and presentation of data-driven reports to customers. Additionally, you are expected to apply HFE and LE principles to training solutions, from training needs assessments, to gap analyses, media selection, and curriculum development support. You may be a great fit for our team if you are enthusiastic about working in multidisciplinary teams promoting HFE, HSI, and LE for complex Defense & Security training systems.
In this role you will primarily be responsible to: Perform HFE analyses for training systems and subsystems using military standards Perform User Interface heuristic assessments Perform anthropometric analyses including Field-of-View and reach envelopes Write reports and develop customer-facing presentations Present analyses to internal and external stakeholders Travel domestically and internationally as part of the job responsibilities Additional duties: Support Human Systems-related Research & Development projects Support human-subjects experiments design, execution, data collection and analyses Write scientific papers, develop presentations, and participate in training conferences Provide Business Development with technical expertise to support shaping and capturing opportunities Support proposal writing Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors
Min 7 years of experience in Human Factors Engineering (5 years with a Master's in Human Factors and 2 years with a PhD)
Due to military clients, U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Experienced working on Defense contracts, preferably US Air Force or US Navy
Experienced with MIL-STD-1472H and HSI domains Experienced with the application of Learning Engineering principles to training and instructional systems Experienced with Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) exercises Excellent writing skills for technical reports and white papers Rapid prototyping for Human-Machine Interfaces Knowledge and application of ethical guidelines to human-subjects Well-versed in parametric and non-parametric statistics for hypothesis testing Experienced working in multi-disciplinary teams, preferably with system engineers and instructional system designers Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) utilizing Cameo and/or Rhapsody After you apply, you may receive a call or message from our AI Talent Scout about this role or other opportunities that match your skills and preferences.
